Background on the event:
Turtle Farm Pottery (home studio) was established in 2017 as Casey completed his ceramics degree at Berea College. We sold at wholesale accounts around our home of the Red River Gorge, KY and markets around the region. In 2020 we opened our very own gallery at The Brick in Pine Ridge, KY (eastern access to the RRG). In 2020 we also launched our website and online store. June 1 2023, we opened our very own brick & mortar Turtle Farm Pottery Downtown Studio & Gallery where people can come and see first-hand the Turtle Team of potters creating. We have had various additional potters on the Turtle Team since we began, each contributing unique styles and ideas.
You won’t find us as much at markets. And the only shops you can find our pottery is at our Downtown Studio & Gallery, The Brick, Daniel Boone Coffee Shop, Miguel’s Pizza (branded mugs), and New Riff Distillery (branded items). We still have our home studio where our glazes are made from scratch and where inspiration can occur at any moment. Casey and Laura, the loveable lovebirds, are the core of the operation that brings you the finest hand crafted, high quality pottery in Appalachia, KY.

The Swells are a Lexington based band are primarily known for their New Orleans-style old blues/jazz string band sound. They draw from a range of influences including Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, Professor Longhair, Dwight Yoakam, Willie Nelson, and Bob Dylan. They are also described as a “classic brass band” and have been noted for incorporating elements of jazz, country blues, traditional, and swing. We love them and know you will too!
Spatzle Factory is going to be serving their usual menu of homemade German drop noodles and various toppings. They will also have pretzls and a dessert of chocolate waffle bowl with homemade Bavarian cream and strawberries.
