Since 2017, the Wild & Scenic Red Riverfest has celebrated our free-flowing Red River, one of our unique Kentucky treasures and KY’s only nationally designated/protected Wild & Scenic river. The event is co-hosted by Friends of Red River and Kentucky Waterways Alliance, who work closely together to protect, restore, and celebrate the Red River through clean ups, environmental education, safe public access and recreation. This year, Clay City Parks Department joins as a cohost! Along with celebrating and raising awareness of the value of clean water, the event is a fundraiser for Friends of Red River for cleanups, improved public river access, and keeping this festival free and accessible to ALL.
