The Beattyville/Lee County Tourism Comission, Beattyville Main Street, and the Owsley Country Fiscal Court/City of Booneville are partnering up for this overnight paddle event. Event price includes shuttle to the launch point and dinner that evening at the campsite.

Bring your own camping gear. We will transport it to the camping spot along the river. Bring your own canoes and kayaks.

Don’t want to primitave camp? That’s ok. There are several rental places around. Book a cabin or hotel room in Booneville or Beattyville then meet up with the group in the morning for the second half of the journey.

Parking & Registration: 8am-9am

Registration is at the Beattyville Boat Ramp located on River Street in Beattyville starting at 8:30am. Everyone must sign in and sign a waver. Load your camping gear in the supply trailer, kayaks on the second trailer and hop in the van!

Day 1: Launch : 9:30am-10:00am

Launch from Wolfe Creek Ramp off HWY 11 at Upper Wolfe Creek Road. There is a 5 mile stretch with plenty of opportunites to stretch, fish, and play in the water. At mile 5 pull off to the left bank and portage around the low water concrete bridge at Kay Wood Road. From here it is a 7 mile stretch of scenic river that winds around the ciy of Booneville. The take out point is a the Fish Creek Ramp off Fish Creek Rd.

Dinner: 7pm

Your event ticket includes dinner. A grill out of hamburgers, hot dogs, and the trimmings. Marshmellos also provided for the evening campfire.

Camping:

Camping gear will be locked in a dropped trailer at the half way point and ready for you at the end of the first day. Primitive camping with porta-potties on site. Make your camping spot anywhere around the ramp area. There will be degisnated spots for campfires.

Day 2: Launch : 9:00am

Launch from Fish Creek Ramp and head downstream toward Beattyville. Shoals and opportunities to take breaks and stretch over the frist 5 miles. The river becomes wider and deeper the rest of the way (mile 6-11). Paddle till you reach Beattyville and where North and South Fork River’s merge, then turn right into the North Fork of the Kentucky River and continue upsteam for 200 yards to the Beattyville Boat Ramp. Estimated exit from the River 5:00pm Sunday June 9th.
